A quaint town in the mesmerizing Parvati Valley, Kasol Kheerganga Tosh is a beautiful Himachal trek. An outstanding choice among avid trekkers in Himachal, Kheerganga is known for its high temp water springs. There is a sanctuary here devoted to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati that is worth admiring. Kheerganga was named after the Parvati waterway which streams adjacent to the Parvati valley. 

Tosh Village – An overview

Tosh village is at the end of the Parvati Valley in Himachal Pradesh. Situated at a whopping height of 7,874ft, it leads to the stunning Pin Parvati Pass. The Tosh River here is an offshoot of the Parvati River. Suckling into the main river at Pulga, the valley of Tosh is home to a tributary of the river Parvati. That’s why it’s named River Tosh. 

Kasol – A little about the Mini Israel of India

Due to a high percentage of Israeli tourists, Kasol is famously called Mini Israel of India. The Himalayan hotspot for backpackers is a hamlet in the district Kullu. Situated in Parvati Valley, Kosal is on the way between Bhuntar and Manikaran. It is precisely located 30 km from Bhuntar and 3.5 km from Manikaran. Kasol is a base for Malana, one other popular trek like Kheerganga. 

How to reach Kasol?

By air:

The airport near Kasol is Kullu Manali Airport in Bhuntar. 32 km away from Kasol, the airport is well connected by flights from Delhi and Chandigarh. There are taxis and buses available to reach Kasol.

By train:

The Joginder Nagar train station is the nearest railway station. It is roughly 145 km from Kasol and takes 4 hours to reach Kasol.

By road:

The easiest way to reach Parvati Valley is by road. From Delhi to Kasol, it takes about 12 hours to cover the distance of 565 Kms.

How can you reach the trekking point?

The starting of the Kasol Kheerganga Tosh Trek is Barshaini, which is easily connected by Kasol. Kasol is around 16 km from Barshaini town, and it takes nearly 1.5 hours to reach here. Many local means of transport and private cabs allow you to reach Barshaini from Kasol. 

Trekking Routes

  1. Nakthan Route – This is the most preferred and fastest route to reach the top. The well-defined route takes you to Kheerganga top in 4 hours. 
  1. Kalga Route – The route starts from the Barshaini Bridge. This route is a combination of a major route during a trip. You have to sweat a little since climbing and sliding in this route is considerably difficult.

Nakthan Village

The pit stop at the Nakthan Village is highly recommended. This pit stop is at the right distance for you to regain your energy. There are several eye-catching cafes in this little village which serve some laudable foods.
